Overall Purpose
• Work as System Design Authority (SDA) for allocated systems to maintain consistency and compliance with requirements
• Determine system Requirements by studying project technical specifications and provides the technical expertise during the project lifecycle.
• Develops and interprets Technical Scope by reviewing project specifications, Tender Documents, and site project requirements
• Provides technical Support to the Project technical team during meetings and client visits.
• Provides technical change control management for contract variations during project execution
• Responsible for the overall technical scope of the system, including support for selection of suppliers, integration of the overall system solution and support for technical issues during Site Commissioning and Hand-Over.
• Provide In-House Engineering Design to ensure compliance with the Project Schedule.
Principal Job Responsibilities
• Assure the accuracy of Engineering milestones which are integral to the project schedule
• Inter-discipline coordination and overall quality control of the technical work.
• Evaluate design changes and modifications providing project impact assessments.
• Prepare the engineering deliverables “base design and detailed design.
• Support in managing suppliers to ensure all technical deliverables are delivered within the technical scope of the project.
• Prepare internal Purchase requests in coordination with Engineering, Procurement and Project manager.
• Providing Technical presentations for internal and external requirements.
• Ensuring that project filing systems are maintained accurately in line with company requirements.
• Interface with warehouse staff to ensure that received materials is technically compliant with specification.
• Proactively works with the integration function to maintain project design compliance.
• Monitors and remote support when required to the following:
Configuration, Pre-FAT, FAT, Pre-commissioning, commissioning, Pre-SAT, SAT testes of systems ensuring that punch items are cleared and re-inspected, maintenance and warranty support.
• Frequent travel globally may be required as per projects requirement.
Quality Control Responsibilities
• Coordinates with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that Quality Control is maintained in all Engineering Deliverables and technical elements of Site Works.
HSE Responsibilities
• Shall comply with instructions relating to safety at the place of work; adhere to suitable means of protection against injuries, occupational diseases, fire and other hazards which may result from the use of machinery and other equipment and ensure that he / she comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
• Follow mandatory requirements for reporting of incidents / accidents and near misses.
Participation in risk assessments and complying with legal and other requirements
Required Competencies
• Education: bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in detailed engineering design and documentation for Oil & Gas projects
• Minimum 4 years of experience with System Integrators, that specializes in Analog & IP Network System and Wireless Systems. Preferably for Oil& Gas projects.
• Preferred Experience architecting complex systems, including operating systems, networks, firewalls, and load balancers.
• With solid background in the preparation of engineering documents and drawings such as but not limited to Bill of Materials, Datasheets, Functional Design Specifications, Block Diagram, Wiring Diagram, Dimensional Mounting Details among others, during detailed engineering stage of various projects.
• Knowledgeable on Ingress protection and Hazardous area classification.
• Should have sound knowledge in any of skillset like Switching, Routing, MPLS, FOC, Structured Cabling Systems, telephone, IP PABX, SNMP based Management Systems, Firewall, SDWAN, Diode, Video Conference systems, AV Systems. Experience on major OEMs such as HP, Juniper, CISCO, Huawei, Allied Telesys, Siemens, Moxa, NEC, AVAYA would be added advantage.
• Hands on installation, configuration, testing, trouble shooting and commissioning of active and passive data networks including extensive use of software and hardware testing tools such as Data Analyzers, Cable Certification tools, OTDR, Insertion Loss Test Sets, Wireshark etc.
• Experience with network architecture within OT environments will be a huge plus.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and the OSI 7-layer model including DHCP, DNS, NTP, SMTP, etc.
• Preferred to be certified with any security vendors CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, CCIE or equivalent certification.
• Skills: Management skills, Excellent Communications Skills & Proficient in MS office Applications
• Knowledge of project scheduling techniques and understands Critical Path Analysis.
